Physician Review Information

The Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA) Information Center has the responsibility, under Chapter 153, Wisconsin Statutes, to collect, analyze and disseminate hospital and ambulatory surgery data. The information is submitted directly from hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.

This data includes Wisconsin medical license numbers for physicians designated as either attending or procedure physicians. The law requires that all data, except elements that might identify individual patients, are made available to the public. Typical requesters of the data are health care researchers, health care providers, marketing firms, or business coalitions interested in analyzing referral or utilization patterns within particular market areas.
